The Bharat Scouts and Guides- Rangers and Rovers units of the college are working effectively under the able guidance of Dr. Ravi Kiran Sharma and Assitant Professor Ashwani Kumar Sharma. The Bharat Scouts and Guide are privileged to establish two units comprising of 24 candidates each in both the units vof Rovers and Rangers respectively. In this academic session the Bharat Scouts and Guides undertook different social work, community work, awareness campaign, literary programme activitie.
Activities Conducted by Scouts and Guides:

  • Three Rovers namely Madhur, Naveen Raj and Rajesh Kumar of BA III sem participates in state level Rovers/Rangers Trecking Camp held at GC Shimla-6 from 21-25 July 2015.
  • Two Rovers participated in Nipun Testing Camp for Rovers at Shahtalai Distt. Bilaspur (H.P.) from 3-7 August 2015.
  • 30 Rangers and 25 Rovers participated in Afforestation Drive organized by HP State Forest Dept. Rohru at Batu in Rantari Pnchayat on 8 August 2015.
  • Two Rovers performed on group song in College Auditorium while Miss Ritika, Ranger’s Leader delivered a speech on Teacher’s Day celebration on 4 Sept 2015.
  • Contingent of 24 Rangers and Rovers participated in March Past during College Atheletic Meet on 18 Feb 2016.
  • World Scouts Day was celebrated as International Thinking Day on 25 Feb 2016 during which keynote speakers Prof. Chander Singh Rangta delivered his speech on Financial Literacy and DSW- Prof B. S. Pirta delivered an effective talk on Yoga and its Importance in Life. Rangers and Rovers, dressed in Pahari Dress, performed on various cultural activities.
  •  Four Rovers and one Ranger participated in State Level Mountaineering Course of two weeks organized by Mountaineering Institute Manali from 10 – 25 March 2016.
  • Health Awareness Camp was organized on 21 March 2016 on the eve of International Water Day under the theme of “Know Your Fitness Level” for the college fraternity.     

As per the guidelines of H.P University, this year the members of Student Central Association (CSCA) were nominated on merit basis. Mr. Ajay (BCom V Semester), Ms. Priyanka Devi (B.A. V Semester), Ms. Bharti Magyan (BA. I Semester) and Ms. Ritika Negi (B.SC. Ist Sem) were elected as, President, Vice-President, General Secretary and Joint Secretary respectively. Besides, 28 other members constituted the CSCA.
Tutorials are organized for all the students of major and minor courses. The students meet with their respective tutors once a week in order to discuss various aspects of their chosen courses. The purpose of the tutorials is to develop deep understanding of the subjects in the students and to hone their communication skills.
The celebrations for this session in girl’s hostel started with organization of Fresher’s Party on 12 August 2015 and the mood of festivity came to its grand closure with the Farewell Party arranged by the boarders on 29 March 2016. For socio-spiritual, physical and emotional development of the hostlers various activities like picnic, an Art of Living Camp, Yoga camp, Karatey Camp etc. were conducted under the supervision of hostel warden Prof. Shalu  Dulta.

  • As a gesture to welcome the new boarders the boy’shostel organized a fresher’s Party on 11th August 2015.
  • 2nd October 2015 was celebrated as “Swachh Bharat Day” and a cleanliness camp was organized under the supervision of the Warden Dr. Poonam  Kimta Chauhan.
  • Quiz and Declamation competitions were held on 16th October 2015.
  • Group Discussion was held on 26th November 2015.
  • Annual Sports Day was celebrated on 28th February 2015.
  • To bid Adieu to the outgoing boarders and to reward the talent of the students a Farewell- Cum- Annual Prize Distribution function was held on 21st March 2016.   

To improve the quality of teaching, streamline the administration, incorporate best management practices, and prepare the college to meet new challenges as to bring it at par with the best institutions in its class, Internal Quality Assurance Cell took several initiatives. IQAC has been made an important part of the institute and is working hard towards realizing the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. Its members work with sincerity and with utmost dedication to develop a system of conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of the institution which is quite visible now.  
Woman Empowerment Cell was formed during this session and Mrs. Rajni Bhardwaj was chosen the Convenor. The Cell organized one day seminar on “Role of Education in Girls or Women life.” On 8th March 2016 the cell proudly celebrated International Women’s Day and  a rally for the cause of “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” was organized  on this occasion. 
Under the guidance of Dr. Poonam Kimta Chauhan a Happy Course of 6 days was organized from 7th to 12th Sept. 2015 by Art of Living. 42 boys and 75 girls from both the hostels benefited from this course.
The welcome party arranged in the auditorium for the freshers’ on 14 Sept. 2015 gave them a great opportunity to show their creative potential. Mr Ambujand Ms Diksha Bhandari of Commerce were the respective winners of Mr. and Ms Fresher’s Crowns. 
The PTA is an important part of the College. The PTA executive body is providing all the needed co-operation in improving the academic environment in the College. During this session the PTA appointed five members in teaching faculty and three in non-teaching faculty and  actively participated in the developmental activities of the college.
The election for the PTA executive body of the College was held on 1st Sept. 2015. In which Sh. Ashok Sharma was elected as President, Sh. Fina Lal Deshta as Vice- President, Dr. Gopal Dutt Sharma as Secretary and Sh. Joginder Loota was elected as joint Secretary.
SVEEP – Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation organized an electoral awareness programme for the college students in the campus on 5 Oct. 2015. On this occasion, quiz and slogan writing competition were also organized on various issues related to Democracy, Elections and Electoral Processes with the overwhelming participation of college students.
As per the direction contained in State Project Director (RUSA) teams of college faculty members and students were constituted which undertook the RUSA Sensitize Programme for the students at 10+2 level in Govt. Senior Secondary Schools of Rohroo and Chirgaon Blocks in the month of February 2016. Through their visit to the schools the teams informed the students about various aspects of CBCS.
            The College through NSS units and organizing committee, convened and co-convened by NSS Programme Officers Dr. Gopal Dutt Sharma and Dr. Umesh Narta hosted a  State Level TERI sponsored youth seminar on “Entrepreneurship and Skilling: A Springboard for Sustainable Development” on 7& 8 April 2016. About 150 students, NSS Youth Leaders from 10 different colleges/ institutions participated in it and were imparted training and information on entrepreneurship and skill development.
